Privacy Policy

Daily Log (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a local-first daily logging app available at dailylogonline.com. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. In short: the content you write stays on your device.

1. Information we do not collect

We do not collect, store on our servers, transmit, sell, or share the content of your daily logs, work logs, activity logs, study sessions, or journal entries. We do not require an account, email address, or any personal identifier to use the app.

2. Where your data is stored

Everything you type is stored locally in your own browser using IndexedDB, a standard browser storage technology. Your entries never leave your device unless you choose to copy, export, or print them yourself. Because storage is local, clearing your browser data, using private/incognito mode, or switching devices or browsers may remove or hide your entries.

3. Cookies and local storage

The app stores a single preference key (dailylog-theme) in your browser’s local storage to remember your light or dark theme choice. This value contains no personal information and is never sent to us.

4. Third-party services

The app loads the Inter web font from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address and user agent as part of serving the font files. Fonts are the only third-party request; no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts are used.

5. Hosting and logs

The app is served as static files. Our hosting provider may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and reliability. These logs are not linked to the content you write and are not used to identify you.

6. Children’s privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone. Because no content is transmitted to us, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

7. Your control over your data

You are always in control. You can delete any entry inside the app at any time, or remove everything at once from Settings → Clear all data, which wipes all locally stored entries. Clearing your browser’s site data has the same effect.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a new “last updated” date at the top of this page.
